Y9 Improvisation 101


Welcome to new course offered by the St Nicholas Music Department.

In this course we will have the chance to develop our musicianship as we explore the legendary skill of improvisation.

  • INTERVALS
  • WHOLE/HALF STEP
  • THE MAJOR SCALE
RESOURCES









ASSIGNMENTS


  • Listen to the 12 intervals and write 2M or 3M       Listening quiz
  • Find a song with a 2M or a 3M on the melody.
  • Practice the Major Scale
  • Start learning the tune "All of Me" - by Gerald Marks & Seymor Simon

    the first one is 1-3, the second is 2-3, the third is 1-2, the fourth one is 1-2, the fifth one is 2-3, the sixth one is 1-3, the seventh is 2-3, the eighth is 1-2, the ninth is 1-2, the tenth is 1-2, the eleventh is 2-3, the twelve one is 1-3
